Without Fear - Stories of the Men on the Bo'ness War Memorial


Today the people of Bo'ness will gather at the Cenotaph for the annual remembrance day memorial service. As we remember those great men's ultimate sacrifice I know that more than one or two within the crowd will have a private thought for our friend Robert Jardine, who very sadly passed away this year. Together with his two pals they produced this incredible book that honours each and every one of the men who are on our memorial. An absolute gentleman, who deserves a wee nod tomorrow too.

Early Spring Planting

We're well ahead with our early Spring Planting and it's lovely to see the wee spring bulbs coming through in all our areas. It's been such a blustery, windy winter that lots of the Sweet Williams and Violas we planted in October really haven't made much of an impact, so it's lovely to see a wee bit colour in our tubs and gardens. Our Polytunnel is full of trays of seeds which hopefully you will see in all the areas in Summer. It's our first year trying to grow our own plants so wish us luck!!!

We were honoured to receive a wonderful donation from the family of Carlie following her beautiful service in St Marys RC Church Bo'ness on Hogmanay.  Carlie was such a wee beacon of light in the town and we will honour her memory by using the money to buy something lovely in her memory.

Fundraising Update

What a fantastic weekend of Fundraising we've just had. A donation of £800 is on the way to us from the Fleetwood Mac tribute night held in Fisons, organised by Lorraine McAloon & her gang of helpers - plus £520 was raised from the Quiz night in Bridgeness Bowling club organised by Jaine and her fabulous crew from Bloomin' Bo'ness.  A massive thanks to all who attended these events and gave so generously to help us keep Bo'ness Bloomin'
